RENEWED FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE NPF-30 PRESENTATION INFORMATION FOR PRE-APPLICATION MEETING REGARDING TRANSITION TO ADVANCED WESTINGHOUSE FUEL AND UPGRADE OF ANALYTICAL METHODS AT CALLAWAY PLANT A meeting between Union Electric (Ameren Missouri), Westinghouse Electric Corporation (WEC) and NRC personnel is being planned for the purpose of discussing a license amendment request (LAR) to be submitted in the May 2025 timeframe for the Callaway Plant, Unit 1 (Callaway). The forthcoming meeting is intended to address the licensing aspects of a fuel transition project and solicit inquiries and insights from the NRC staff.
The amendment to be requested has three overarching themes which include the transition to an upgraded fuel assembly design, adoption of improved analysis methods, and an incremental increase in allowable fuel burnup. From preparation of the presentation materials to be used for the anticipated pre-application meeting, it was determined that some of the discussions are likely to include or describe information that is proprietary to WEC. The presentation materials to be used for the open portion of the meeting are in the form of PowerPoint slides prepared by Ameren and WEC personnel. These slides contain no proprietary content. The purpose of this letter is to transmit the slides to the NRC staff in advance of the meeting.

DOCKET NUMBER 50-483 CALLAWAY PLANT UNIT 1 UNION ELECTRIC CO.
These changes provide for use of a more robust fuel product that features accident tolerant features, along with a supporting safety analysis that conforms to current regulatory guidance.
From preparation of the presentation materials to be used for the anticipated pre-application meeting, it was determined that some of the discussions are likely to include or describe information that is proprietary to WEC. On that basis, the pre-application meeting is being planned as partly a public meeting and partly a closed meeting.
The presentation materials to be used for the open portion of the meeting are in the form of PowerPoint slides prepared by Ameren and WEC personnel. These slides contain no proprietary content. The purpose of this letter is to transmit the slides to the NRC staff in advance of the meeting.
The set of slides to be used for the public meeting is provided as Enclosure 1. No slides were prepared for the closed portion of the meeting.
