STAFF REQUIREMENTS - SECY-19-0088 - EVALUATION OF THRESHOLDS FOR REPORTING ABNORMAL OCCURRENCES IN RESPONSE TO SRM-M190423 The Commission has approved the staffs recommended Option 1, to develop and propose to the Commission a limited revision to the Abnormal Occurrence criteria in the medical event and source security areas only, to align these criteria with events that are significant from the standpoint of public health or safety. | |||
The staff should ensure that any potential revisions to the criteria not have the effect of obscuring events or trends meriting corrective action. | |||
If the staff proposes new criteria that could result in additional costs to Agreement States or licensees, the staff should provide a cost-benefit discussion to the Commission. | |||
