MAINTENANCE OF REFERENCE MATERIALS AT THE FIELD LIBRARY RELATED TO THE REVIEW OF THE ENTERGY NUCLEAR OPERATIONS, INC., LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION

Dear Ms. Thaler:

This letter is a follow-up to our telephone conversation on April 16, 2007, concerning the maintenance of relevant documents by your library. These documents are related to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staffs review of the application by Entergy Nuclear Operations, Inc., for renewal of the operating licenses for Indian Point Nuclear Generating Unit Nos. 2 and 3 (Indian Point) for an additional 20 years. The application was received by the NRC on April 30, 2007.

The NRC staff appreciates your willingness to assist the public in participating in the license renewal environmental review process. As discussed, your support would consist of providing approximately two feet of shelf space in your reference section, which would be used for making documents related to the NRC staffs environmental review available to the public.

We will place the Field Library on our distribution list for documents and notices related to the review of the Indian Point application. After the application review process is completed in approximately two years, you may dispose of these documents.

A paper copy of the application is being sent to you via priority mail. An electronic version is also available at the NRCs license renewal website, accessible at http://www.nrc.gov/reactors/operating/licensing/renewal/applications/indian-point/html.
