Dear Dan McDonald,

I am writing to on behalf of myself and the Center for Nuclear'Responsibility.

On March 24, 1987, I had a conversation with John Hopkins of your staff and advised him'of my desire to be kept informed on the recent events and 'investigat'ion of events at Turkey Point nuclear unit /f4.

I explained to Mr. Hopkins that our organization is very interested in monitoring the repair process and perhaps becoming more involved.

I also advised him

.that since it takes months for NRC documentation to get to the Public Document Room, that we are requesting that we be placed on the service list to receive any and all NRC and/or FPL and/or vendor documents having to do with 'the corrosi'on of the vessel studs and head.

We would, of course, also wish to receive any and all NRC inspection reports as they are released.

In short, we request that the NRC place the Center for Nuclear Responsibility on the service list to receive any and all documents about the recent problems at Turkey Point Unit ij4, including, but not limited to:

FPL safety evaluations, environmental assessments, and administrative requests; NRC technical reports, inspection reports, and all correspondence; any technical evaluations by rea'ctor vendors.

Also, we would appreciate your letting us know by phone the day FPL files their 50,59 request or any similar administrative document.

Please let us know as soon as possible if you can

" accomodate our requests, or if we will need to institute some sort of administrative action to obtain the documentation that we need.
