Request l.a A0-2l Failure of Diesel Generator l-l Air Start Motor FSAR Section 8.4.1.2 indicates that "Each engine has two inde-pendent starting control circuits including two air motors, Describe the cause of the slow start on the single air motor and the corrective actions.


By letter dated May l2, l975, you requested additional infor-mation on Abnormal Occurrences 21-74, 6-75 and 7-75. This letter provides the requested information.

The plant procedures for "Circulating Water and Chlorination Systems" have been modified following the subject AO. These modifica-tions, however, are considered an interim solution. As you are aware, we have had very limited experience with the closed cycle cooling system which has recently been installed at the plant and have not removed the cooling towers from service since th.ese occurrences.
