==Purpose:==
To inform the Agreement States, as well as any States with pending Agreement State applications, that the Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards published NUREG-1556, Volume 13, Revision 2, Consolidated Guidance About Materials Licenses:
Program-Specific Guidance About Commercial Radiopharmacy Licenses - Final Report in March 2019.

==Background:==
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is revising the licensing guidance in the NUREG-1556 series. The NRC originally published NUREG-1556, Volume 13 in September 1999 and published Revision 1 to Volume 13 in November 2007. The document is intended for use by applicants, licensees, and NRC staff, and is also available to the Agreement States.
Discussion: NUREG-1556, Volume 13, Revision 2, was updated by a working group made up of NRC and Agreement State representatives, to include safety culture, security of radioactive materials, protection of sensitive information, and changes in regulatory policies and practices.
The volume was also reviewed by a steering committee made up of NRC management and an Agreement State manager. After the steering committee review, the NRC regional offices and NRC legal staff reviewed the document and then NMSS, Division of Materials Safety, Security, State, and Tribal Programs management approved the volume for publication Revision 2 of Volume 13 can be found on the NRCs public Web site at:
