l-LER ATTACHMENT - RO #1-80-012 Facility: BSEP Unit No.
1 Event Date: February 24,'1980 The RIP valves shut when the non-interruptible instrument air pressure switch, RIP-PSL-1221, drifted shut and allowed the downstream air pressure to decrease below that required to maintain the valves open. A leaking switch diaphragm and 0-ring caused the switch to drift shut and decrease.the air pressure to
~ actuation solenoids.of the valves. The defective diaphragm and 0-ring were re-placed and'the switch and the RIP valves were returned to satisfactory operation.
. ALL RIP valves are periodically tested -for loss of non-interruptible air to the valve actuators as per a plant approved procedure.
