| Report for LER 50-321/1981-024, R1 On 3-25-81, with Unit 1 shutdown for a refueling / torus modif-ication outage local leakage rate tests of the nitrogen inert and purge supply valves T48-F103, F307, F308, F309 and F324 were performed per HNP-1-3952 (Primary Containment Periodic Type B and Type C Leakage Tests).

| On 3-28-81, LLRTs of the feedwater check valve B21-F010A and the nanual isolation valve B%l-F011A were performed per HNP-1-3952.
| |
| On 4-1-81, the LLRT coordinator reviewed the data sheets, and it was determined that the valves were leaking excessively (as found:
| |
| would not pressurize) such that they would cause the
| |
| .60 La overall allowable leakage limit of Tech Specs 4.7.A.2.G to be exceed-ed.
| |
| This is a repetitive occurrence - refer to LER 50-321/
| |
| 1981-023.
| |
| There were no effects on public health or safety.
| |
| The investigation conducted to determine the cause of the valves' leaking revealed the following:
| |
| The gaskets on valve O
| |
| B21-F010A were worn and needed to be replaced.
| |
| The Tee-Rings on valves T48-F103, F307, F308 and F309 were worn.
| |
| Also the "O" rings on valve T48-F309 were worn.
| |
| The worn and leaky gaskets were replaced and valve B21-F010A was
| |
| : lapped, rescated and retested.
| |
| (As left leakage:
| |
| 213 ACCM)
| |
| The worn Tee-Rings and "0" rings were replaced and the T48 valves were retested and'left at a leakage of 0 ACCM.
| |
| The unit is now in full compliance with the requirements of Tech Specs 4.7.A.2.G and no further reporting is required.
