Dear Mr. Crossman:

Enclosed is a report on the " Completion and Results of Phase I of the NSCR Post Damage Pulse Test Program for a full FLIP TRIGA Core". The report was reviewed and approved on April 13, 1983 with only minor charges required.. These changes have been made and in addition approval by the RSB to proceed with the pulse test program and approval of changes to Phase II and Phase III of the program have been obtained. As stated in the report we plan to continue pulsing at the Phase I level unless there is experimenter need to continue to Phase II level pulsing.

Several pulse tests are planned at the Phase I level to study instrumented fuel element characteristics followed by tests for verification of the power peaking factors generated by Exterminator-2 reactor code calculations.

Sincerely, Donald E. Feltz Director DEF/ym Enclosure n/
