Bernard Bordnick who has appeared in the above captioned proceeding on behalf of the staff of the Nuclear Regulatory Camission, has reported to Ben %iles of my Counsel's office your statements at the January 4,1984 con-ference of counsel which tought further information concerning New York State's intended participation in the cmergency planning procceding. As you may be aware, I have publicly stated the State's position that the current LIICO em:gency preparedness plan is inadequate and that the State intends to participate in all aspects of the Shoreham licensing proceeding, including the energency planning hearings.

Bernard Bordnick who has appeared in the above captioned proceeding on behalf of the staff of the Nuclear Regulatory Camission, has reported to Ben %iles of my Counsel's office your statements at the January 4,1984 con-ference of counsel which tought further information concerning New York State's intended participation in the cmergency planning procceding. As you may be aware, I have publicly stated the State's position that the current LIICO em:gency preparedness plan is inadequate and that the State intends to participate in all aspects of the Shoreham licensing proceeding, including the energency planning hearings.

My Special Counsel, Fabian G. Palanino, will appear on Tuesday, January 17, 1984, at the resumed off-site emergency planning hearings at Riverhead, New York to represent me there and in all future proceedings.
