R 102 TILE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO JULY 1,1990 - JUNE 30,1991 The University of New Mexico's AGN.20lM reactor continues to be used extensively for teaching experiments as a part of our undergraduate and graduate programs. These experiments include approach to critical, reactor period and reactivity measurements, hnportance functions measurements, sample activation, control rod calibrations, and reactor power and neutron fluence measurements. The reactor is also used throughout the ndl, Spring and Summer sessions of the University. All experiments have received prior approval from our Reactor Safeguards Advisory Committee. No modifications or experiments involving violation of the reactor Technical Specifications have been performed.

As required by the " Operator and Senior Operator Requalification Program", a training session was conducted in hiay 1991. At the present time, James Clark's license is on inactive status as he has not had an opportunity to participate in operations or training sessions. The other three senior operators (13usch, Caipenter, and Cooper) regularly teach courses involving the operation and theory of the reactor so they have continuing education as the university semester proceeds.

The AGF' 20thi Reactor Facility is an essential part of our educational program, including public education, and continues to serve us well. The use of the reactor from July of 1990 through June of 1991 was as follows:
