Ne ls on Grace SPR 85-020 Page Two January 3, 1986 EVENT DESCRIPTION On December 5, 1985, the Fire Protection Coordinator (FPC) was notified that Fire Door AB 319, located on the 412' elevation of the Auxiliary Building, was fu nc tional; however, it was di f ficult to close and latch. A subsequent investigation by the FPC identified that the door was slightly twisted wh ich restricted proper closure and la t ch in g .

ACTION TAKEN Because of the difficulty in closing and l a t c h in g , the FPC declared the door inoperable.       As required by Technical Specification 3.7.10, " Fire Rated As s emb l ie s ," smoke detectors were verified operable and an hourly fire watch patrol was established.
