I informed the TAC that NRC could acyee with a less rigorous characterization of site geomorphic and seismic conditions considering stabilization-in-place (in the pit) as the preferred alternative. This is based on the fact that the tailings would be contained below grade and would thus be protected from geomorphic and seismic instability, and on location of the site in a zone of low seismic risk. | |||
