SHUTDOWN TO REPAIR LEAKING VALVES At11a.m.(CST), November 20, 1987 ti.e licensee elected to shutdown from full power to cold shutdown conditions to perfonn top assembly replacement on Reactor Depressurization System valves exhibiting excessive pilot valve leakage since startup on Novemoer 14. Repairs performed during the forced outage November 9-14 were not fully effective in reducing tiie plant's total unidentified leakage. Lenk rate during the period November 14-20 has risen steadily from approximately 0.642 gpm to 0.752 gpm. The administrative limit is 0.8 gpm and the Tech Spec ii. nit -is 1.0-gpm. The licensee is expected to commence shutdown during the afternoon of November 20, perform repairs over the weekend of November 21-22, and return.to service November 23. No other major maintenance items are planned.
