HEU/ LEU CONVERSION SCHEDULE FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA TRAINING REACTOR (UFTR)

Your proposed plan for conversion of the UFTR from HEU to LEU, in compliance with the requirements of 10 CFR 50.64(c)(2)(1), submitted by letter dated March 26, 1986, indicates that your " Full Submittal to NRC of Application to Convert" will not be until June 1990 (Table II). We find that the span of time from the receipt of funding to the submittal of your application to convert is too long and request that you review this schedule in order to improve it.

Please provide an updated schedule for conversion of the UFTR within thirty days of the date of this letter.
