OF MARCH 4,1998, MEETING WITH NNECO TO DISCUSS THE RESTART READINESS STATUS OF MILLSTONE UNITS 1,2, AND 3 On March 4,1998, the Director of the Special Projects Office and his staff met with NNECO representatives in a publicly observed meeting. The meeting was held to allow NNECO to inform the NRC staff of the status of the recovery of NNECO's three Millstone units. A list of meeting attendees is enclosed (Enclosure 1).

The Vice President, Operations, began NNECO's presentation with a brief introduction and a statement that NNECO expects to meet all Millstone Unit 3 restart success objectives in March 1998. This was followed by NNECO updates on the Safety-Conscious Work Environment and Millstone Unit 3 status. The Millstone Unit 3 status presentation included discussions of restart readiness, independent affirmation process, integrated schedule, deferred items list review, backlog management plan, and follow-ups to the NRC staff's 40500 inspection. NNECO's presentation slides are enclosed (Enclosure 2).
