IMPLEMENTATION OF ED0 ACTION: AMENDMENT OF

'10 CFR PARTS 30 AND 32 On July 14, 1987, the Executive Director for Operations signed a final rule which would amend 10 CFR Parts 30 and 32 to provide for manufacturers' registration of radiation safety information about sources and devices containing radioactive material.

Please implement the ED0's action by arranging for publication of the enclosed rule in the Federal Register allowing 30 days after publication for rule to be effective.

Also enclosed is a Congressional letter" package for transmittal to GPA/CA.

In-addition, enclosed are copies of the regulatory analysis and regulatory guides 10.10 and 10.11 for transmittal to the PDR.

An item for the Weekly Report to the Comission was submitted to'the EDO on July 6,1987, as an enclosure to the memorandum that recomended signing of the final rule.

In view of the minor nature of the proposed amendments which merely formalize present practice, GPA/PA agrees that a public announcement is not needed for the final rule.
