NRC letter dated May 5, 1989 References 1 and 2 transmitted an amendment request to revise Technical Specification 3/4.6.1.6, related to containment vessel structural integrity.

A meeting between the Staff, Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation and Union Electric personnel was held on May 3, 1989 and is summarized in Reference 3.

The attached specification was jointly developed during that meeting and represents a clarification to the versions provided in References 1'and 2.

The attached specification meets Staff requirements and it has been determhaed tnat the conclusions of the Safety Evaluation egi Significant Hazards Evaluation transmitted by Reference 1 remain valid.

The Callaway On-Site Review Committee has approved this proposed specification.

The Nuclear Safety Review Board previously approved the safety evaluation conclusions provided in Reference 1.
