Purpose:

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff is hosting another webinar to provide an opportunity for external stakeholders and the NRC staff to exchange information on the NRCs development of Part 53 preliminary proposed rule language for advanced nuclear reactors. The Part 53 preliminary proposed rule language for Subpart D, Siting Requirements is available in ADAMS under accession No. ML21012A284. To support the discussion of these Part 53 subparts, the NRC staff has provided a separate Discussion Table for Subpart D. ADAMS accession No. ML21012A278. In addition, the NRC staff will host a discussion on the broader objectives and structure of Part 53. This meeting provides an opportunity for the NRC staff to hear insights and answer questions from the public about the Part 53 rulemaking effort. Attendees are strongly encouraged to read the Part 53 subpart D preliminary rule language, available on www.regulations.gov using Docket ID NRC-2019-0062 or in ADAMS, prior to the meeting.
