(DESC) hereby submits Special Report 2023-002, pursuant to the requirements of Technical Specification (TS) 3.3.3.10 Action a and TS 6.9.2. This special report is required by VCSNS TS because Loose-Part Monitoring System (LPMS) Channel 1 has been inoperable for greater than 30 days. | ||
TS 3.3.3.10 requires the LPMS be operable in Modes 1 and 2 (and does not fall under the provisions of 3.0.4). LPMS Channel 1, monitoring the reactor vessel upper head, was inoperable when VCSNS entered Mode 2 on May 18, 2023.
