DOCKETS 50-266 AND 50-301 REPLY TO A NON-CITED VIOLATION NRC INSPECTION REPORT NOS. 50-266/98011 AND 50-301/98011 POINT BEACll NUCLEAR PI ANT. UNITS 1 AND 2 In a letter from Mr. Geoffrey Grant dated July 29,1998, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission forwarded the results of an inspection conducted by your staff at our Point Beach Nuclear Plant.
The inspection was conducted from May 26,1998, through July 6,1998. The inspection report in91uded one Non-Cited Violation of NRC requirements. The Non-Cited Violation pertains to vendor environmental qualification specifications for the Unit 1 and Unit 2 containment hydrogen              ;
monitors not being incorporated into routine maintenance procedures.
This letter provides a written response to the Non-Cited Violation, as requested by your letter of July 29,1998.
Licensee Event Report (LER) 1998-019-00, " Containment Hydrogen Monitor Inoperability," was submitted to the Commission for Point Beach Nuclear Plant, Units I and 2 on July 14,1998.
