Please take the actions necessary to establish the new Office

investigatory personnel, presently assigned to IE and the                                                    j l
Regional Offices, to the new office. prior to the~end of Jun'e.                                              !
l                                    A Request for Personnel Action (SF-52) to that effect is                          1 I

staffing level for the entir.e Office will be 38 persons.                                                    l Full-time equivalent staff. year authorizations will be                                                      {
developed in the course of the upcoming budget review.                                                        j You should arrange to provide requi, red office space and                                                      i equipment in the East-West Towers or the Air Rights Buildings                                                j l
for an initial headquarters complement of 10. Efforts to-                                                    i
    -                                increase the numbers of quali'fied investigators in the field should receive high priority support from the Office of Af. ministration.          '
The transfer of investigative operations will be made at a date mutually agreeable to you and the Director, OI, but not
* later than three weeks following formal establishment of the                                                j office.
