The purpose of this letter is to inform you of our intent to provide responses to NUREG-0737-requirement II.K.3.30, Revised Small Break LOCA Methods to Show Compliance with 10CFR50 Appendix K, through the General Electric Company. It is our understanding that discussions between NRC staff members and 1 BWR Owners' Group participants at the Seotember 22, 1980 clarification meeting in Washington, D.C. indicated that this method of response would be acceptable.
The purpose of this letter is to inform you of our intent to provide responses to NUREG-0737-requirement II.K.3.30, Revised Small Break LOCA Methods to Show Compliance with 10CFR50 Appendix K, through the General Electric Company. It is our understanding that discussions between NRC staff members and 1 BWR Owners' Group participants at the Seotember 22, 1980 clarification meeting in Washington, D.C. indicated that this method of response would be acceptable.
We request that the staff direct their questions regarding the scope and schedule to General Electric (Attn. R. H. Buchholz, Manager, BWR Systems Licensing), and that copies of correspondence concerning this item be sent to Iowa Electric so that we may remain aware of the progress of resolution of the staff's concerns. GE has informed us that they will be prepared to discuss the approach to this item by December 15, 1980.
