FORTHCOMING NRC MEETING WITH THE ELECTRIC POWER RESEARCH INSTITUTE (EPRI) AND THE MATERIALS RELIABILITY PROGRAM (MRP)

DATE & TIME: Thursday, November 30, 2006, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Friday, December 1, 2006, 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

LOCATION: Electric Power Research Institute 1300 W.T. Harris Boulevard Charlotte, NC 28262 PURPOSE: To discuss the implications of recent dissimilar metal weld inspection results at Wolf Creek. The NRC and industry will discuss analyses performed to understand the implication of these results to the butt weld inspection schedules contained in the industry initiative MRP-139, Primary System Piping Butt Weld Inspection and Evaluation Guidelines.

Certain portions of this meeting pertaining to proprietary information on MRP-109, Alloy 82/182 Pipe Butt Weld Safety Assessment for US PWR Plant Designs: Westinghouse and CE Design Plants, MRP-113, Alloy 82/182 Pipe Butt Weld Safety Assessment for US PWR Plant Designs, and MRP-139 will be closed to the public. (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Accession No. ML042430093, ML042080193, and ML052150196)

CATEGORY 2*: This is a Category 2 meeting. The public is invited to participate in this meeting by discussing regulatory issues with the NRC at designated points identified on the agenda.

PARTICIPANTS: Participants from the NRC include members of the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation and the Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research.
