UPDATE - MILLSTONE UNIT 3 REACTOR TRIP AND SHUTDOWN GREATER THAN 72 HOURS | UPDATE - MILLSTONE UNIT 3 REACTOR TRIP AND SHUTDOWN GREATER THAN 72 HOURS This preliminary notification supplements information in PNO-I-09-007, which documented an automatic reactor trip at Millstone Unit 3 that resulted in a shutdown greater than 72 hours. The plant trip was caused by an electrical fault on the main generator output circuit breaker. | ||
Dominion replaced the faulty main generator output circuit breaker and supporting components. Testing of the replacement main generator output circuit breaker and supporting components was completed satisfactorily on January 4, 2010. Dominion commenced a plant startup on January 5, 2010. Currently, Millstone Unit 3 is synchronized to the electrical grid and raising power. | |||
