SUBJECT:        COLUMBIA GENERATING STATION - ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF RESPONSE
                TO NRC BASELINE INSPECTION REPORT 05000397/2018003 AND
                DISPUTED NON-CITED VIOLATION
Dear Mr. Sawatzke:
This letter acknowledges your November 29, 2018, correspondence (ML18333A389)
in response to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Inspection
Report 05000397/2018003 (ML18304A362), dated October 31, 2018. In the inspection report,
the NRC documented a Green non-cited violation (NCV) that was the subject of your response:
NCV 05000397/2018003-02, Green NCV of Technical Specification 5.7.2 for failure to control
workers in a high radiation area exceeding 1.0 rem/hr. The cover letter to the inspection report
requested you to respond in writing within 30 days if you contested any of the violations.
On November 29, 2018, the NRC received a letter from you contesting this NCV. The NRC is
currently reviewing your basis for contesting the violation in accordance with Section 2.2.7 of the
Enforcement Manual. Accordingly, we will provide the results of our evaluations by written
response within 90 days of the receipt of your letter.
This letter, its enclosure, and your response (if any) will be made available for public inspection
and copying at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html and at the NRC Public Document
Room in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390, Public Inspections, Exemptions, Requests for
Withholding.
