Dear Mr. Bell:

It is my sincere pleasure to invite you to participate as a speaker at NRC's 28 th Regulatory Information Conference (RIC). The RIC will be held on March 8-10, 2016, at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center, 5701 Marinelli Road, North Bethesda, MD 20852. Co-sponsored by the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation and the Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research, the RIC brings together nearly 3,000 participants from over 30 countries representing interested parties from government, industry, international agencies, other interested stakeholders, and members of the public. The RIC provides an open forum for stakeholders to learn, share, and discuss information on significant and timely nuclear regulatory activities, processes, and emergent issues.

We request your participation as a panelist during the session entitled, "Domestic and International Efforts to Prepare for Advanced and Small Modular Reactors." The session will give RIC participants an opportunity to learn about ongoing initiatives addressing the licensing of advanced and small modular reactors worldwide. Specifically, the session will discuss efforts by international regulators for advanced and small modular reactors and domestic initiatives for non-light water reactors. We would like you to present the industry effort to address policy issues that may impact small modular reactors. . This session is scheduled for Wednesday, March 9, 2016, from 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Ms. Yanely Malave will be the Coordinator for this session, and can be reached at (301) 415-1519 and via email at yanely.malave@nrc.gov.
