SUMMARY

FOR THE REGULATORY AUDIT OF NUSCALE POWER, LLC DESIGN CERTIFICATION APPLICATION FINAL SAFETY ANALYSIS REPORT SECTION 4.2, "FUEL SYSTEMS DESIGN", SECTION 4.3, "NUCLEAR DESIGN", AND SECTION 4.4, "THERMAL AND HYDRAULIC DESIGN" The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff conducted an audit from March 19, 2018 until April 30, 2018, to review Final Safety Evaluation Report (FSAR) Sections 4.2, "Fuel Systems Design," 4.3, "Nuclear Design," and 4.4, "Thermal and Hydraulic Design." The purpose of the NRC's regulatory audit of NuScale's TR was to: (1) gain a better understanding of the bases underlying the NuScale Subchannel Analysis Methodology and confirm the staff's understanding; (2) better understand if the methodology meets NRC regulations and conforms to any applicable regulatory guidance; and; (3) develop requests for additional information (RAI). The enclosed audit summary describes the content of the review, identifies the audit participants, and audit exit observations.
