SHUTDOWN GREATER THAN 72 HOURS DUE TO INCREASED PRIMARY COOLANT LEAKAGE This preliminary notification (PN) provides an update to PNO-II-14-006 which addressed an August 3, 2014, Unit 2 shutdown due to indications of increased primary leakage.

The licensee repaired the two leaks in the Unit 2 drywell that caused an increase in unidentified leakage and required a unit shutdown for their repair. The licensee performed a code class repair on the residual heat removal (RHR) shutdown cooling 2" chemical injection socket weld. The licensee also replaced the piping for the reactor building closed cooling water (RBCCW) cooling lines to the 'A' Recirculation pump. As a part of their extent of condition for these leaks, they replaced the RBCCW cooling lines to the 'B' Recirculation pump. Unit 2 startup is scheduled for August 6, 2014.

This preliminary notification is issued for information only.

Region II received initial notification of this occurrence through the resident inspectors who had been monitoring licensee actions. The information presented herein has been discussed with the licensee and is current as of 10:30 a.m. August 6, 2014.
