Entergy Operations, Inc. (Entergy) letter to the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), "Request for Alternative Frequency to Containment Unbonded Post-Tensioning System lnservice Inspection (ANO-CISI-002),"

Via the Referenced submittal, Entergy submitted a request for the NRC to approve a request for an alternative from the requirements of Section XI, Subsection IWL of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Boiler and Pressure Vessel (BPV) Code. Per the ASME BPV Code, the periodic visual examination and physical testing of containment building concrete are required in accordance with Table IWL-2500-1 L-A, as well as physical testing of unbonded post-tensioning systems in accordance with Table IWL-2500-1 L-B.

Based on the results of the NRCs review of Entergys request of the Referenced submittal, the NRC requested a clarification call to ensure they had the correct understanding of request. This call was held on September 7, 2023. After the call, Entergy decided to supplement the request.

Specifically, the Table IWL-2500-1, Examination Category L-B, Item No. L2.20 examinations.

Based on the clarification call, Entergy will perform the L2.20 examinations in conjunction with the L2.10 examinations as outlined in the Reference submittal.

This letter contains no new regulatory commitments.
