The purpose of this letter is to place on the docket a revised response date to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) request for additional information (RAI) dated i

April 3,1997, regarding the Unit No. I and No. 2 license amendment to change various i

radiation monitor setpoints. Proposed responses to this request were discussed with NRC staff members on April 28,1997. We were informed at that time that a similar request for additional information on a Unit No. 2 license amendment request to revise certain other radiation monitors was forthcoming and that the two RAI responses could be combined into one response. That RAI was received May 2,1997.

The Duquesne Light Company will provide a combined response by June 1,1997, to each of the NRC's requests. If you have any questions regarding this submittal, please contact Mr. J. Arias at (412) 393-5203.
