In accordance with the requirements of the Limerick Generating Station (LGS) Unit 1 Technical Specifications (TS)

Section 6.9.1.7, this letter submits the 1988 Annual Radiological Environmental Monitoring Report No.

5.

This report provides the information delineated in TS Section 6.9.1.7, including a summary description of the Radiological Environmental Monitoring Program (REMP).

The REMP found that LGS effects on the environment were not measurable in any sample medium except fish.

A small amount of LGS-related Zn-65 activity was found in fish.

The calculated dose from fish is 1.3E-02 mrem to a teenager's liver.

The doses are well below the 10 CFR 50 Appendix I design objectives of 10 mrem.

In all small media, the actual doses are much lower due to the conservative assumptions used.

The 1988 REMP confirmed that the LGS environmental effects from radioactive releases were well below LGS Unit 1 TS and applicable regulatory limits.
