              -This letter responds to the Notice.of Violation contained in NRC Inspection Report No. 50-458/89-30. The irtspection was performed by 'Mr. James A. F.
Kelly on June.19-23, 1989 of activities authorized by NRC Operating License NPF-47 for River Bend Station - Unit 1.
Gulf States Utilities Company's        (GSU) response to Notice of Violation 8930-01. " Compensatory Measures", is provided in the enclosed Attachment 1 pursuant 10CFR2.201.        Also, Attachment 2 provides GSU's            response                                    to Unresolved Item 8930-03, " Personnel Training and Qualification".
In' accordance with 10CFR73.21, information contained in the attachment has been determined to contain safeguards information and should be handled accordingly.
