The Commission was briefed by the NRC staff on Reactor Licensing Initiatives. The Nuclear Energy institute also provided comments.
The Commission understands that the number of Confirmatory Action Letters (CALs) has trended down over the past 10 years. The staff should provide the data on the number of CALs that have been issued each year for the last 10 years for Part 50 licensees and materials licensees.

The Commission requested that the NRC staff continue to work with stakeholders on 10 CFR 50.59 (NRR) and 10 CFR 72.48 (NMSS) rulemaking arid, to achieve closure on this initiative, provide timely recommendations for resolving stakeholders' comments to the Commission. The Commission intends to hold a briefing with stakeholders after receiving the staff's                    O recommendation.
