dated 9/13/84 In accordance with 10CFR50.55(c) LP&L provided telephone notiffention on September 18,1984 of the subject deficiency. Reference I requented an extention for nubmittal of a written report on PRD-180 to January 16, 1985 Reference 2 provided LP&L'n renponse to related Violation 8425-01 which specified derniin on corrective actions pinnned and underway to renolve this violation.
LP&L would like to cinrify a coreitacnt made to the NRC in Reference 2        In renponse to Viointion 8425-01, LP&L implied that a technient review of all vendor inntruction manuals at Waterford 3 would be completed by 3/31/85.
It in LP&L'n intent to complete the techntent review of only those vendor inntruction manunin annociated with nnfety-reinted or environmentally qualified equipnent by 3/31/85. Remaining vendor instruction manuals will receive a techntent review as part of an ongoing program to control vendor manuals.

e  o W3P85-0083 Page 2 LP&L' requires additional time to evaluate the safety significance of PRD-180 for reportability determination of the deficiency per 10CFR50.55(e) guidance. LPAL has, therefore, rescheduled the submittal of the written report on PRD-180 for February 28, 1985.
