Boston Edison Company personnel have reviewed the NRC proposed amendment to 10 CFR 50.54, " Conditions of Licenses". The proposed amendment would authorize licensees to receive back treated low level' radioactive waste that is produced by operating the reactors after that waste has been sent offsite for treatment. This proposed amendment will enhance licensees' options to reduce the waste volume by using offsite treatment facilities and services and permitting the return of the treated waste to the licensee for disposal-at an appropriate disposal facility at a later date.
