Enclosed are twenty copies of the recently completed Safety Analys5 Report (SAR) for the Armed Forces Radiobiology Research Institute (AFRRI) 'lRIGA Reactor Facility under License R-84. This report is submitted for review and incorporation into Docket No. 50-170 as part of the AFRRI research reactor relicensing effort.
Enclosed are twenty copies of the recently completed Safety Analys5 Report (SAR) for the Armed Forces Radiobiology Research Institute (AFRRI) 'lRIGA Reactor Facility under License R-84. This report is submitted for review and incorporation into Docket No. 50-170 as part of the AFRRI research reactor relicensing effort.
This Safety Analysis Reput was prepared under. contract by Dames and Moore, Engineer ConsBtants, in accordance with 10 CFR Parts 50 and 2. Upon review and approval, this SAR will supersede AFRRI's revised Final Safeguards Report, dated March 1962 including all subsequent amendments made to it.

As a result of discussions with the USNRC Staff, the enclosed SAR contains, in Section 6.0, _ an updated and more rigorous version of the " Safety Analysis" previously submitted on 30 Octcber 1980. This updated " Safety Analysis" (Section 6.0 of the enclosed SAR), therefore, supersedes the previous report submitted.
