The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC or the staff) and representatives of FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company (FENOC or the applicant) held a telephone conference call on November 22, 2011, to discuss and clarify the applicants responses to the staffs requests for additional information (RAIs) concerning the Davis-Besse, license renewal application.

REQUESTS FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION NOVEMBER 22, 2011 The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC or the staff) and representatives of FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company (FENOC or the applicant) held a telephone conference call on November 22, 2011, to discuss and clarify the following response to requests for additional information (RAIs) concerning the license renewal application (LRA).

Followup RAI B.2.1-2 (ASME Section XI general visual examiner qualification requirements)

Discussion:

The staff stated that although the response to Followup RAI B.2.1-2 provided in RAI response letter dated August 26, 2011 was acceptable, additional information provided by the applicant via e-mail was needed under the docket to support the staff review.

The staff asked whether the applicant would docket the highlighted copy of the procedures sent to the staff by email on July 21, 2011. The applicant agreed to docket the highlighted procedure sections provided in the email dated July 21, 2011. The applicant also stated that the highlighted procedure sections would be included in the next license renewal letter to the NRC.

There was no further discussion, and the call was concluded.

ACTION: The applicant will include the highlighted procedure sections in the next license renewal letter to the NRC.
