On March 24, 1986, we verbally notified your Mr. T. F. Westerman of a deficiency involving possible discrepancies in vendor (Raychem) methodology for testing of cnvironmental qualification which may render the Raychem Kit NPKS-02-01 unacceptable for specific published applications.

This is an interim report of a potentially reportable item under the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e).

The vendor has submitted for review an Environmental Qualification Report EDR-6057 for their heat shrinkable tube WCSF-200-N. This report and ta:tir:g were :pecifically cadsMakc:: for the St. Lucie plant of Florida Power and Light Co., and are being reviewed by the site equipment qualification group. Our assessment of this issue will be complete in May, 1986. We anticipate submitting our next report by May 28, 1986.
