The Commission

• was briefed by representatives of the staff and the Sandia National Laboratory on preliminary data from over-pressurization tests of a 1:6 scale model of a dry reactor containment building.

The Chairman noted that this was a quick look repcrt on the results of this test and that the Commission would be interested in receiving the full results of the test after careful evaluation of the data.

Commissioner Bernthal requested the staff to consider carefully the possibility for the use of the Sandia facility as part of the ongoing containment performance program, to test the containment responses to dynamic loads (e.g., hydrogen detonation).
