The League of Women Voters of Metropolitan Dade County wishes to~

protest the cancellation of the June 2nd hearings by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission on the repairs to the Turkey Point steam generators of Florida Power and Light Company (docket 450-250 SP and N50>>251 SP).

The League believes in citizen participation in decision making regarding nuclear energy and its waste storage and disposal prob-lems.

We would like to have the right to evaluate the health and safety factors and the potential financial costs.

Since we are bearing the risks and paying f'r the expenses, the concerns of the people of Dade-County should be aired.

The League has studied the Environmental Impact Statement of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and has certain questions about this report.

I hope you will let the voice of the League and other con-cerned people be heard.

We would appreciate hearing from you as soon as possible.
