Dear Hr. Jackson:

Pennsylvania Power Il Light Company (PPKL) requests approval to use a portion of the flow from an unnamed stream located at the Susquehanna Steam Electric Station over a two-day period during the week of April 13, 1992.

Sixty gallons of water per minute are needed to backwash a filter press as well as mix a flocculant aid to help dewater sewage sludge at this site's sewage treatment plant (STP).

Several options were evaluated for the source of water but because of the distance from other site facilities and the crossing of site roads, the stream which is within a few feet of the STP was the only reasonable choice.

L As we discussed in our April 8, 1992 telephone conversation, a stream running adjacent to the STP at this time has a flow of between 110 and 120 gallons per minute.

It runs through this 1,500 acre site eventually into a site recreation pond.

There should be no adverse impact to the stream or pond from this two day activity.

We estimate that this project will take approximately 12 hours1.388889e-4 days
0.00333 hours
1.984127e-5 weeks
4.566e-6 months
over the two days.

We request your approval for this project.

If you have any questions, please call me at (215) 774-7889 or FAX No.

(215) 774-7337.

Sincerely, rome S. Fields
