Gentlemen:

Enclosed find copies of Amendment 55 to Arkansas Nuclear One-Unit 1 FSAR.

This amendment changes only the Arkansas Nuclear One Emergency Plan and incorporates NRS staff review comments on Amendment 54 in response to Mr. Davis's and Mr. Stolz's, December 5,1977, letter, with the exception of fire protection training and drills and repair and damage control I

team drills. The fire protection training and drills is still being developed as part of the NRC staff fire protection review. There is no repair and damage control team to drill until specific emergency conditions exist as stated in section 2.3.2.3.e of the Arkansas Nuclear One Emergency Plan.

It should alsr be noted that the radio communications with Dardanelle Dam have not yet been established. Telephone communications will be utilized in the interim. The Dardanelle Dam radio communications are expected to be in operation by late summmer of 1978.
