Dear Dr. Reese:
This letter is in acknowledgment of your December 15, 2006, letter that provided TRTR input on fingerprinting requirements for unescorted access to research and test reactors. The NRC staff continues to work on this issue and will consider TRTRs input.
As we have discussed, the NRC is committed to conducting its regulatory responsibilities on research and test reactors as specified in the Atomic Energy Act. We will continue to work with TRTR and other stakeholders to the maximum extent practicable to ensure our regulatory actions are open, effective, efficient, realistic and timely.
Thank you for providing TRTRs input on this important matter. I look forward to continuing to work with TRTR, and you, on these and other important issues. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
/RA/
