The dual-unit plant is operated by Exelon Generation Co. Nguyen joined the NRC in 2008 as a reactor engineer in Region III. She has served as both the resident and senior resident inspector at Palisades Nuclear Plant. Nguyen holds a bachelor's degree in nuclear, plasma and radiological engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Each commercial nuclear power plant site in the United States has at least two resident inspectors who monitor day-to-day operations at the plant. Nguyen will join the NRC resident inspector at the Dresden facility. They will serve as the agency's eyes and ears at the facility, conducting inspections and monitoring significant work projects.
