==Dear Alan:==

Twenty-seven loggerhead                      turtles were removed from the St.
Lucie Plant intake canal during the July  September quarter of 1990.      One loggerhead              was dead when removed from the canal.                          All live turtles were released into the ocean from Hutchinson Island.
Measuxements for all animals are attached.
Also, Dr. Wilcox has forwarded three reports of turtles being removed from the Port Evex'glades Plant intake canal by Florida Power F Light personnel.                                    Two of the turtles were not identified. One was removed on 17 August and weighed approx-imately 100 pounds; the other was removed on 26 August and weighed approximately 200 pounds.                          Both were released alive. In addition, six live loggerhead hatchlings were removed on 4 September and taken to Ocean World.
As always, feel free to contact concerning the enclosed information.
