The inspection of the hydraulle snubbers discussed in the referenced letter was completed during the 1978 refueling and maintenance outage. As a part of this inspection, three (3) snubbers of the type referenced in Bulletin 78-10 were found in a safety-related system.

As a part of this inspection, three (3) snubbers of the type referenced in Bulletin 78-10 were found in a safety-related system. These older style snubbers were removed and replaced with the newer style Bergen-Paterson snubbers. The snubbers that were removed were inspected and no indications of broken springs or damage to the accumulator piston V-cup seal was indicated.

Dear Mr. Grier:

The inspection of the hydraulle snubbers discussed in the referenced letter was completed during the 1978 refueling and maintenance outage. As a part of this inspection, three (3) snubbers of the type referenced in Bulletin 78-10 were found in a safety-related system.

These older style snubbers were removed and replaced with the newer style Bergen-Paterson snubbers.

The snubbers that were removed were inspected and no indications of broken springs or damage to the accumulator piston V-cup seal was indicated.
