Inside Recirculation Spray Pumps" for your review. This report describes the "as found" condition of and the maintenance performed on,the subject pumps.
The pumps showed wear on the bowl bushings which was characteristic of wear caused by pumpage containing abrasive particles. The observed damage to the bushings was probably caused during the initial flush of the Recirculation Spray System. Upon the recommendation of the pump manufacturer, a modifica-tion was made to the pumps to eliminate the flushing of the first stage bushings by second stage pumpage thus reducing the likelihood of wear of these bushings. There was no evidence of any pump damage caused by coupling, pump casing, shaft or bowl misalignment, out-of-plumb mounting, vibration, side loads or flow pertubations.             Based upon the examinations conducted and the repairs and modifications made to the pumps, Duquesne Light Company con-siders the pumps to be operable and fully capable of performing their intended function.

Beaver Valley Power Station, Unit No. 1 Docket No. 50-334 Inspection Report - Inside Recirculation Spray Pumps Gentlemen:

Forwarded herewith is a copy of a report entitled " Inspection Report -
