LICENSED OPERATOR REQUALIFICATION PROGRAM EVALUATION - INSPECTION REPORT NOS. 50-424/93-18 AND 50-425/93-18 This is to advise you of a special initiative that is being performed at l

operating reactors. It will include an inspection to be performed at your Vogtle l

Electric Generating Plant.

The initiative is entitled the " Licensed Operator Requalification Program Evaluation".

The purpose of the inspection is to verify that your requalification program for licensed operators incorporates the requirements of 10 CFR 55. In addition, an inspection of some training programs under procedure 41500 will be conducted.

The inspection is scheduled for the requalification cycle beginning November 1, 1993, in lieu of the previously scheduled requalification examination and will encompass one of the five examination weeks. Several three day site visits may also be made by one or two examinert prior to or after the inspection week in order to observe operator simulator and classroom training activities.

This inspection effort will be led by Mr. R. Aiello.
