Seismic Reevaluation of the NSSS Piping The Reference 2 letter submitted a summary of analyt-ical results for the seismic reassessment of the NSSS piping.         It was indicated in the letter that some snubbers were calculated to exceed their rated loads and three recirculation nozzles were calculated to exceed their allowable values. Hence, Detroit Edison has replaced the overloaded snubbers (15 Kip) with stiffer ones (55 Kip). The increased stiffness of the snubbers was verified by analysis to correct the problem.         In addition, the three recirculation nozzles and recirculation pump have been requalified by analy-sis for the new loadings. The results of these analy-ses are available for audit should you desire.

As a consequence, all piping stresses for the required NSSS piping are now within ASME Code allowables for the seismic reassessment without exception. In addition, all applicable pipe mounted equipment is within code allowables.

Should you have any additional questions, please con-tact Mr. L.
